I know there are movements around concerning censorship. My feeling on it is that the filter system already in place is sufficient if used without limiting content. I have no problem with filtering so that people can choose what they are exposed to. My problem is when the mysterious "powers-that-be" decide what can even be posted in the first place, regardless of the rating associated with it.

That is censorship.

I mean, seriously? There is a reason this site is named DeviantArt. This is supposed to be a refuge for those not walking the beaten path. We should be allowed to post our creations without censorship, or being forced to display only portions and then run outside accounts to show the whole piece.

It's art, not porn! Get over it already.

No one should be subjected to another person's views. That is oppression, and in this format, is undeniably censorship. Everyone should be free to post what they choose, and the public should, in turn, be free to choose if that is then something they want to open or not.

Choice is freedom. Anything else is censorship.

One of the top selling authors out there right now and he agrees with the obvious bias out there. Art, be it written, drawn, or otherwise, is a freedom of expression and should be protected and respected as such. You don't see other sites, Tumblr, restricting content and the world has not ended and all of today's youth are not corrupted because of it.

Get a grip people.

"Censorship" is not the job of any site/organization/governing body. It is the individual choice granted to all people to create/view that which they desire.

Ugh! I am about to become one of those people. You know the kind. The ones that are always lurking, with a favorites list a mile long, but not a scrap of their own work up? Yah, them, and I am dangerously close to fitting the definition. There is hope! I really am working on things.I have 3 drawings going and some writing. The problem is my crazy busy schedule, and that I am sitting with tutorials right now as I try to improve my knowledge so I can put it to use in what I am working on. I promise, though, something is coming. However, if you don't see a gallery entry in the next few weeks you have my complete permission to throw something at me.
